System Requirements
-------------------
Color Model Clock has only been tested under System 7. It may run under System 6.0.4, but I no longer have a machine to test it on so I can't offer any guarantees. Color Model Clock also requires Color Quickdraw which is available on most Macs with the 68020 and later, but not on the Classics -- unless you have a second monitor -- sorry classic owners.
Versions
--------
With the release of Color Model Clock V1.3, I have sent out two versions one which is 8-bit color pictures for those with 256 color monitors. The other version is 24-bit color for those with thousands or millions of colors. If you have paid shareware fees for Cindy Clock or Color Model Clock in the past, then this update is free.
Operation
---------
Using the program is simple. You double click on the application just like any other Macintosh program. Once the program is open, you have some options. To make the program a more useful utility, you can set alarms (or reminders) for alert you while the program is running. The alarms do not operate unless the program is running. To set an alarm, select Alarm Settings from the Edit menu or press Command-A. A dialog box will appear that will let you set up to 10 alarms.
The notification of an alarm going off will happen differently depending on how the program is running. If the program is the front running application, a dialog box will appear and the alarm sound will sound-off. If the program is not the front application, it will use the Notification Manager to get your attention by rotating the icon in the multifinder menu. As soon as you bring the clock program to the front, the dialog box will appear with the alarm note.
With Color Model Clock V1.3, there are three model classes to choose from. Two with Cindy Crawford pictures and one with Kathy Ireland. You can select a model class from the Model Menu.
There are ten pictures in each model class. You can select an individual picture from the picture menu. A new feature with version 1.3 is the Cycle command. When this item is checked, the pictures will automatically rotate each minute of the day. Kind of a perpetual calendar within the day. Be careful though, sometimes watching the pictures is addicting.
What to do when the boss is coming :)
-------------------------------------
If the boss is coming down the hall and they would not appreciate the pictures, then you can quickly select the clock program and press Command-B. Mickey Mouse will appear. Who can be offended by the great Mickey Mouse!
